My university experience has been absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend the University of Buckingham to anyone thikning about pursuing an undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree.

They have improved greatly in recent years, with new additions to our Student's Union building and out new Business School and Medical School. There has been some new investment in the cafeteria as well, but there are further improvements that could be made, like retrofitting some modern power facilities for students to ensure their phones/laptops are charged during lectures.

The support is absolutely excellent aty Buckingham. The student welfare office, personal tutor system, careers service and the Student's Union all provide help and guidance for all students. Student welfare has inested greatly in recent years to help make students feel comfortable and at ease with their studies - including by welcoming two new puppies to the welfare team. The personal tutor system allows students to be allocated a member of their school's teaching staff to ensure they are comfortable with their particular course and that they are progressing in their degree. They can offer tailored advice for what to do after university as well. The careers service have an unparraleled understanding of the jobs market and hold regular career-building activities, including LinkedIn classes and how to construct a CV.

My Student's Union goes above and beyond to help the students, many of whom have come from overseas to study, have fun and to meet new people. There are several societies that organise some fantastic events, from disco parties to cook-outs, charity fundraisers and field trips. Students are elected every term to the SU Executive team and they make great pitches to demonmstrate their credentials for their respective positions. We have a diverse range of students from different countries and backgrounds representing what is a really diverse student body.

Buckingham is not the typical student city because it is a small town, but everything that students need is in town. We have a range of supermarkets and a weekly farmers market and some fantastic restaurants serving a range of cuisine, from Italian to gastropub to American to Turkish. There are also a couple of good bars in addition to the Student Union bar. Buckingham has a range of gift shops and barbers/salons; stationary stores and some excellent cafes. Any other shops are in easy reach by frequent public transport (bus and taxi) to Milton Keynes, Bicester and/or Oxford.

There are a series of societies that represent each of the many nationalities that are represented at the university. The Sports Union umbrella group of societies features rugby, football, netball, gymnasium, general fitness, yoga and other recreational sports such as polo.

Lectures and seminars are interactive and give everyone the opportunity to express their opinions andf have a debate about the topic in discussion. This is possible largely due to our small class sizes (between 10 and 20). My professors are exceptional in their expertise, knowledge and ability to support me and my fellow students. Again the small class sizes allow them to direct their attention towards us if we are unsure about anything.

My postgraduate and undergraduate programmes have taught me critical thinking and teamwork, and in both instances the university has given me the opportunity in class to put into practice these essential transferable skills. My postgraduate course has also helpd me to refine my presentation skills and helped to improve my confidence levels.

it a really peacfull place to study in really lovely surroundings please do come here with an open mind do be prepared to put yourself out there and make friends and speak to all types of different students young old and from different cultural backgrounds that way you will do well.
