Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
My experience has been excellent so far. I am really enjoying my course, which gave me the opportunity to study different subject area. It is very practice-based. and it offers students the opportunity to engage in interesting seminars. The University is very international and I could work with classmates coming from over the world. I had many opportunities while studying at Beds, including the possibility to take part in the Go Global International Project in China.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
The facilities are great and support students in their learning. In particular, the library is opened 24/24 during the Academic year, which offers the possibility to consult many different books and has a completely silence floor to help students focusing on their assignments. There are also other learning hubs and group study areas where students can go to study and use computers. The Gateway Building is new and classrooms are always tidy and welcoming.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
Students can access the Student Information Desk (SID), which is opened Monday- Friday from 9am to 5 pm. It is your first point of contact for any question or problem and the team is always available to support and advice you. There is also a Student Support office which is always available to help students together with Pastoral Support. Tutors are very friendly and always available to assist student during their learning journeys.
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
You can be involved in several extra-curriculum activities and the Student Union organises a very wide range of events during the week, including quiz nights and karaoke.
It is very easy to get to know other students since the campus is relatively small.
You can also join one of the existing societies or set up your own.
There are also sport programmes such as "Get Active" and you have the possibility to join the University sports team.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Bedford is a very nice and dynamic city- perfect for University students as it has everything. There are many restaurants offering different cuisines; shops and a shopping mall. Furthermore, there are many parks where you can go for a run or play some sports. The embankment area is very nice and there are always events going on.
If you are travelling from outside Bedford , you might find very helpful the free-shuttle bus offered by the University that connects the town centre and train station.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
Students can be involved in many different societies( including sports, volunteering or languages). Furthermore, you have the opportunity to set up your own society and receive support from the Student Union to run it. At the same time, you can join one of the University sport teams ( including football, tennis, rugby etc..) You can also join the "Get Active" programme, which offers students the opportunity to practice different sports during the week and get to know other students with same interests.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
I am really enjoying my course, which gave me the opportunity to study different subject area, including strategy, human resource management, finance, operations and marketing. It provided me with the opportunity to collaborate and work with colleagues coming from over the world. The course is very practice-based and it offers students the opportunity to engage in interesting seminars and workshops. Lastly, there are a lot of group-work activities where you can boost your skills.

How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
The University of Bedfordshire has a career and employability service that is very helpful for students. It offers support with CV and job interviews preparation and it helps students in finding internship or placement year. It also organizes different events and workshops with prospective employers to help students find their future jobs. The University offers free employability units such as Public Speaking, Networking and Languages classes to boost your cv and graduate as a professional.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
This student accommodation is very comfortable, clean and located directly on campus. There is a very nice common area with a Ping Pong and Pool table, Tv to watch any sport events and other social areas where it is very easy to get to know other students. The structure is very safe and there is always a member of staff or security during night to assist you with any issues. A free gym membership is available for all students living here and free wi-fi is available in the structure. The town centre is very close.
