Going to Swansea university has been one of the best experiences I have had. The location, facilities, learning and nightlife are all amazing and I would recommend Swansea uni to everyone

Specifically for the materials course, the contact amount and quality with academic staff is unrivalled, and the equipment you have access to is incredible. However, the Engineering department campus is far out of town, and at no point since first opening has it been convenient to get to and from the university. The best that the uni does every year is tell people it will get better after a few weeks as attendance drops. The campus itself is cold, effectively a giant wind tunnel, and pretty unsociable because who wants to hang out in a giant wind tunnel?

The lecturers are, for the most part, enthusiastic, intelligent and friendly. They are all happy to discuss their research projects and to give you advice on how to progress into research yourself, whilst being realistic about acedemic prospects. The very few modules that provide difficulty are constantly under review and the feedback is listened to, with improvements constantly being made. I do also have to say that most of the subpar modules are shared with other departments.
