I love this university mostly for the student support. I am a disabled student living away from home and they have been so supportive every step of the way, the university is really accessible and any issues or concerns I had were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The course is amazing because it has the best teachers, they are very good at keeping your attention in lectures and getting you involved in seminars. I have dyslexia and they are working 1 on 1 with me to help with assignments, and the careers service is really good we have regular careers fairs which helps us get in touch with people we can get experience with and we can get 1 to 1 career advice. The wellbeing service is so great with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues. The sports facilities are also really good as they are right on campus and we have cheap access to a gym with great equipment and access to so many sports clubs and societies there is something for everyone and we even have the sir mo farah track which really is the pride of St marys. They are really diverse and accepting of people from all different backgrounds. We have many areas to socialise and many social activities and events set up by the student union, there is the DV Cafe which is always great to visit, and there is the ref which is where we go to eat breakfast and dinner using our point if you live in accommodation or money if you commute. All the staff are so lovely and all they want is to help and guide you anyway they can, so supportive.

Our course lecturers are amazing they are very engaging and are really supportive. They are available for 1 on 1 sessions to help with assignments or class work whenever you need. I love the creative writing modules and I love that we get to choose optional modules from any subject in liberal arts for example my optional module this year is film and London theatre. However two of my core modules were liberal arts modules and I found them difficult to understand and didn't find them that interesting, even though the lecturers really did help me every step of the way and were lovely, I kind of wish I didn't have to do it. This course keeps so many paths open to you so that you can literally go on to do anything, I want to go on to do teaching, others what to do journalism or publishing some have no idea what they want to do but this is a really good course to have on ur cv as it shows you know how to write professionally which fits into so many careers and is good for so many careers. The only problem I have with this course is that we don't get any work placement or internship modules which I really think would be useful and helpful for career prospects, I think it should be included even as an optional module so people can choose to do it.

The room I have is a down stairs full accessible room with a wet room, shower seat, automatic door, mini fridge for medication, bigger room to fit my mobility aids and loads more. The location is kind of on the out skirts of campus however I love it that way because it is gorgeous around that area of campus, and it is a short walk to the cafeteria and laundry and everything else on the main campus. The security is amazing, your card accesses your building so no one from outside your building, even if they live on campus but a separate building, can access that building. Security is 24/7 and there is a help desk at the front of your building as well as security office near reception to help you. I had to have help when I locked myself out of my room and within about half an hour I was back in my room. Maintenance are usually really quick, I had a leak in my sink and about an hour after I told them about it, it was already fixed. The only really annoying in demac is that you can't use the lift so you have no choice but to go up the stairs so when moving in if u have heavy bags and your on the 2nd or 3rd or 4th floor... Good luck. The Internet was a little confusing to set up and it can be a bit glitch however I.T and Maintenance are really helpful. We also have housekeeping that come round and clean your bathrooms and bins, they are all such sweet ladies too

St Mary’s is a great place to do primary education!
