I feel generally it’s a great place to study due to its resources. Whether it’s in the Spark or using the Library there’s many places where you can take a seat and get some work done. Additionally, we have access to food and confectionary making those free periods worth while and bridging the gaps between getting work done and breaking to find food. The universities facilities are great, specifically the sports complex and it’s A grade basketball court.

The course has its pros and cons. Course content is great however the minority of courses can be confusing to grasp the concept of. The assessments vary in word count and complexity however, can have a tendency to cover interesting topics.

They are secure and safe, the continuous presence of a security guard can have major effects for some people. It can definitely make things simpler than renting and living in a property. However, sometimes it can be cheaper than living in uni halls.

I think as solent uni is smaller compared to other unis across the country it is able to make the student experience and the quality of learning so much greater. Our lecturers are always there and offer us so much support with teaching outside of timetabled lessons. On my course especially as it is the only one really in the country we are able to learn so much and get a feel for industry level experience and speak to guest lectures and teachers who have had a lot of experience. The location of the uni is perfect and is a great place for young people, i am a big fan of southhampton and the uni has helped in making students feel at home and comfortable in a new city. i personally don’t get involved in a lot of student union events but i do know that they are there and for people who are interested in them they are great. i am extremely proud to be a student here and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in going to uni and looking for a course that is more than just lecture theatres and recordings.

Fashion and beauty media is honestly in my opinion the best course ever Not only do we have intelligent and experience lecturers but they also offer us so many amazing opportunities and give us the confidence to reach for them, this is something i think me and everyone else on the course would be thankful for. They are more than lecturers and make the course engaging and enjoyable while remaining educational and allow us to learn new and adaptable skills each week. We are offered a lot of support outside of lesson and given help when needed. We always have in class teaching, sometimes out of class reading but not too much but they always make sure we are in the class learning and engaging with eachother to make the most of our degree. We are in quite a bit but when you are paying for a degree you’re going to want the most out of it and we really do get this. Fashion and beauty media is one of the most unique degrees across the country and i am so gals i came across it and will always be thankful for the experiences it has given me.

Deanery was a fun experience and i got to meet a lot of new people and as it is close to the other student accoms it was easy to meet friends and walk to theirs. Also only a 15 minute walk from the uni and town which is great for first years. I would say the only downfall was the lift broke down a lot and i was on the fifth floor and stairs are not my friend.
