The best is definitely clubs and the teachers. There are many clubs which are run by students and only overseen by the stuff. They can be in regards to any topic and it’s a great way for students to come together. The university also organises many events, a special shout out to the ones organised with partnership with the Sejong institute. They are always very professional, fun, engaging and informative. Great way to break away from stress of student life. Another part I really like are the teachers. There are quite a few which are genuinely very knowledgeable and passionate about what they teach. I have great respect for them and actually feel like I’m learning something useful, which motivates me and makes the process of learning easier. I also retain more of the information and appreciate the teachers which make group exercises and find ways to make students engaged even if it’s a 3 hour lecture. The worst part I would say is some of the students, while many of them are genuinely nice, easy going and make good friends, around half (majority male) are disrespectful, uncaring for university and basic societal rules, occupy all of the social spaces and leave trash, only speak their native language and not English, refuse to engage in class and stay on their phone instead. I do not appreciate that some teachers let them get decent grades which they don’t deserve for the work they did, just so they don’t have to deal with them next semester. Now even though the university is trying to get it under control it’s not working and keeps the other students out of the social spaces.

The worst aspect of my course are the schedule times. Currently many students, myself included have schedules where they have hours between their classes and finish very late (7:50 pm, multiple times a week). It’s hard to deal with since I cannot go home in between those times and I live quite far away. The course generally is good, I like the content and it’s interesting. One thing I wish was done more was student engagement, as some teachers just choose to teach for long periods of time with no practice or exercises to break it up. That’s quite tiring. But generally like I said the teachers range from average to really good and I enjoy my courses.

I love the location and the small class sizes.

The classes are a good length and cover a good amount of topics during the time.

We’ve had some issues but nothing too major. We had to switch flats because we had a mice infestation but other than that it’s been great.
