What’s great about my university: The small class sizes make it easier to build good relationships with lecturers, who are generally very understanding and willing to listen. The support for disabled students is also excellent, and I feel well supported overall. What isn’t so good: Sometimes lecturers aren’t fully aware of which students have additional learning needs. For example, I’ve occasionally been asked to speak in front of the whole class, even though my learning plan states that I shouldn’t be asked to do this. Once I explain, lecturers are always understanding and make sure it doesn’t happen again, but it would be helpful if all staff were aware of these details from the start.

Best aspects of teaching: All of the teaching content is delivered in class, which really helps with understanding and engagement. My lecturers consistently check that everyone is okay and that we all understand the material, which makes the learning environment supportive and inclusive. Areas for improvement: With some lecturers, a lot of time is spent on certain topics at the start of the lesson, which sometimes means we have to rush through the remaining content towards the end. A more balanced pace throughout the session would make the lessons even more effective.
