As someone who doesn't participate in any sports, Loughborough Campus is beautiful and I was glad to stay in halls again for my second year. No halls are far from lecture buildings but the nearest supermarket, a Sainsburys, is a 20 minute walk whereas tesco or lidl is around 30+ minutes away (but the buses are reliable). The facilities in halls are brilliant, any issues or complaints are quickly fixed. Louhborough Student Union is definitely on the smaller side compared to other unis, but has pretty much anything you'd need. There are two new Co-ops on campus which have excellent student deals if you are in a rush for food. As for the lectures and course themselves, resources such as time are definitely stretched. Lecturers have 400 second-year psychology students to deal with, meaning 400 essays to mark. Therefore, they simply don't have the time to give thorough feedback. So the experience hasn't been as "personal" as I would've expected, given the price. However, I'd attribute this to a country-wide issue rather than a problem with just Loughborough. Overall it's a lovely environment to be in whether you're into sports or not.

Due to around 400 people doing their second-year of psychology (and the year below having 400+), the time of lecturers is limited. I have previously felt that my feedback on essays was general, or had not been justified by the feedback. I do not blame individual lecturers for this, I think University populations are rising and therefore there's just not enough time to attend to each individual student. As for the course content, it's a very "word-heavy" subject. The reading is endless and a lot of it is unrelated to the lecture, meaning you essentially have to teach yourself some parts of what you're assessed on. Although I think we get given this reading to increase our independence and broader knowledge, but it can be overwhleming at times on top of coursework and any other aspects of our life we wish to maintain.

Big fan of Telford, so much that I am staying here for my 2nd year in a row! It is one of the cheapest and largest halls on campus. Reception, cleaning and maintenance staff are incredibly lovely and helepful, any issues are always quick to be resolved. Do NOT let sharing a bathroom put you off, they are cleaned several times a week and my experience has been completely fine. The cleaner for my block is very nice and friendly. A very slight drawback of Telford is that very room is priced the same, yet some blocks in Telford are slightly more updated than others. For example, my room has no whiteboard, no towel rail and relatively older furniture compared to my boyfriends room last year, yet we were paying the exact same. But this is a very small drawback as you ultimately get used to it very quickly, and I am staying in the same room I did last year because I love it! Telford is surrounded by many trees and therefore lots of wildlife. I've seen squirrels, badgers and even a deer once hanging around outside Telford. There has also been a few friendly cats spotted from time to time!
