You can tell Hope put a lot of money and effort into its aesthetic, it's very picturesque with lovely buildings, fountains and greenery. My experience of the teaching staff has actually been so great, they bend over backwards for us and you know they are so keen for us to do the best we can, which means they're not afraid to challenge us whilst coming along side to aid us. As with most universities, the staff are under a lot of external pressure and don't always get the support they need, but they're honest and open with us and will use their own time and resources for our benefit, going above and beyond such as replying to emails on their days off etc. The library is where I spend most of my time now, being in third year, and again the facilities and staff there are super useful, there's always enough seats and computers and more books than we could ever need. The food here is fine, I recommend the noodles, and there's 2 Starbucks and a Costa on site, as well as fab independent cafes nearby. It's further away from the city centre than is ideal but there's a fairly cheap bus that runs regularly, and a free shuttle bus between the two campuses. Overall I've loved uni here, if you work hard and utilise all the support resources you can thrive.

My courses have six contact hours each, which doesn't feel like a lot, but they definitely give you enough to be getting on with in the meantime, and they expect you to be working a full working week, so 37hrs in between, which is manageable but harder if you have a job or family. As I'm part of two schools, social science and humanities, what i learn is drastically different, but i enjoy this aspect. Both courses keep up to date on current affairs, with modules on COVID-19 and BLM movement in Childhood and Youth, and what's going on with the church today in Theology. i think they're assessed fairly, however, it would be good if the exams could be typed, as handwritten exams I believe belong in the past...

Liverpool is the best place I've ever lived. I'm from the south to be fair, but this city is so vibrant and lively and has a whole new feel that you need to experience for yourself. The city centre is beautiful, full of independent places to eat and drink, and it has lovely big parks on the outskirts too. It's a short drive away from the beach, the Lakes and the Peaks. There's no such thing as a dead night of the week here.

It was amazing to stay onsite and be 5 minutes away from all my lectures. They were cheap and friendly. Halls experiences cannot really be explained to someone who hasn't lived through it and any complaints are only really about those who lived in cohort... not for the faint hearted.

I think it has a really good community feel, and the staff and very helpful and supportive

All of the teaching is face to face, and if face to face isn’t possible then they upload them online or prerecord them, lecturers usually reply very quickly

They are very well heated, I think the value for money could be improved with better shower and bigger beds
