The university is very hospitable and the staff feel extremely accommodating however, I can"t helped but feel a bit cramped in my studio space on Fine Art. There aren't enough studios for the number of students which means working over other people sometimes. Although the Falmouth Campus Library is one of the best places in the world!

I really enjoy how the course is nurtured as opposed to taught. The tutors really get to know each individual student and facilitate what would work best for them.

I think the uni is amazing in every area you get given the support you need. The location is very important and the environment you are in for mental health, which is why I think Falmouth is one of the best places. You don't need any extra computers or money to buy the items and stuff you need for your course as they have a massive area called the GA with tons of computers with all the software. They have lots of facilities, for example, the launchpad, which is all about innovation. You can go there with a business idea, and they can help you improve it and even make it come to life. They host events in the launchpad, which are amazing for networking and taught me the importance of taking all opportunities you are given. Falmouth uni is also share a campus with Exeter uni, so it's amazing being able socialise with lots of unique courses and people from different uni's. The main accommodation Glasney village is where I'm currently at and it really is a student village, there's 24/7 support for you if you need it, they have security so it's really safe not to mention Glasney looks amazing. Sharing a flat with 5 other people is really nice as well as it's always fun being around them. They have on campus shops and cafes which, apart from the price, are really convenient. The only main issue I have with the uni is that we do not get given the software for our personal laptop/desktop, you are able to access the software in the GA however it is not open 24/7 so if you wanted to work on your project late at night or on Sunday you won't be able to unless you buy the software. Even with this, the main software we have to mainly use is free for my course. The uni also provide another of small courses you can join like if you want to learn a language or if you want to learn a new Adobe software and get a certificate from it. These are all things the uni offers including a careers area where you can go if you want advice on your career plan or help with anything related which routes you should take, what skills you should develop. They even hold workshops on writing your cv and you can book one-to-one meetings to help either your cv. Overall I'm very happy with Falmouth uni it's given me a lot of opportunities to grow and taught me the importance of taking them and the area being next to the ocean opens up lots of opportunities to go scuba diving or another water related sports which you likely won't get at any other uni.

My course is computing for games. This is a course which is heavy on the programming side of the games industry. This course gives me lots of opportunities as future jobs going I to databases, artificial intelligence and much more than what it appears on the surface. The reason I chose the course was because I based it looking at the modules and decided this would give me the ability to specialise where I wanted to. The first year of our course is more general so you cover the same thing as many other courses eg robotics. This give you the option to switch course at the end of the year to one of these courses if you find yourself wanting to specialise somewhere else. The first year is also about getting everyone onto the same page skills wise as many people come from different backgrounds and different levels of skill. So they run through the basic and the assignments they set teach you that but also gives opportunities for higher skilled people or anyone to push themselves. This I'd why the first year is all about learning so first year doesn't go onto your final grade. We get given lots of opportunities to work in groups and this not only teaches us hard skills but also teaches us soft skills about teamworking and how to manage it. We get lessons at the start teaching us the mandatory basics of teamwork which sounds boring but is actually fairly enjoyable. My schedule right now looking at about 3-4 a day of timetabled lessons this gives lots of contact time with the lecturers and also lots of free time to work and socialise and majority of these lessons being in person which is helpful in some cases but they have also found After covid alot of students learn better certain modules online which the uni have taken into account for still keeping in mind the importance of face to face teaching. So far all of my lecturers have responded roller me within the day or at latest next working day whenever I have sent them an email or teams chat so it has been helpful. Overall the course is one that I'm enjoying and learning. I can't point out any noticeable downsides about it apart from maybe a bit more support making your portfolio or cv I have asked and they do say they teach us what we require to make our portfolio being html as its my first year I haven't reached that part yet.

Glasney is the largest student accommodation Falmouth provide and being on campus means it's really nice if able to get to your lessons 5 minutes within leaving the accommodation. Its also really nice being able to get the student village life being around so many other students. We also share the accommodation with Exeter Uni which is great as you get to live with people from all walks of life. For my accommodation I consider myself lucky when I think of my other flatmates I got as they are all great people and the location of my flat has nobody above it so no noise from there apart from rain and we also live on second floor but the entrance technically makes it ground level so we don't have stairs but get a nicer view. I have visited friends accommodation in Glasney view which is a different area of Glasney from me. They live above people and below people so they have noise from both sides and they also have a lot of stairs to go up some of the unlucky students have like 5 flights of stairs which just seems evil to me as most of them are going to be carrying their shopping and grocery up them. We have the Glasney lodge which handles everything related to our accommodation so if we have a package it gets sent there and we pick it up. If we have an emergency like fridge stopped working we call them up and they send someone out to check it normally if its an emergency within the hour. Admittedly we have not had working heating since being there so 5-6 months now which is crazy and I didn't have a working light for 1 month. For the heating they gave us temporary radiators for a while. But we should be getting money back from the lack of heating. Which leads to price, it costs a lot 165 per week which absorbs majority of your student loan but still leaves you enough to enjoy your time at uni. The price could definitely do with being lowered but I'd expect it as cost of living in Falmouth is fairly high. The accommodation is a short walk away from an Asda which is where majority of the students go to shop. They also have buses that arrive on campus every 15 minutes which can take you to other cheaper shops like Lidl. You can get an all day bus ticket for really cheap if you're under 19.
