The teaching at birkbeck is great: academics are clearly passionate about what they do and willing to support students to pursue their interests. They are also understanding that students are balancing work and other commitments outside their studies, which is important. The diversity of the student body is also a great asset to the university. Some facilities feel slightly neglected and underfunded, especially classroom IT facilities, but I’m only based in one building so this may not be representative across campus.

Birkbeck is a great learning environment students here all have a mutual love of learning. I love the diversity of topics and the modules. I love wandering around London. Bloomsbury is a vibrant area with lots of galleries and museums. I'm signed up for the Harry Potter Society so there is an eclectic mix on offer in way of clubs and societies. The university is very supportive especially with careers advice, disability support, various workshops and academic development here.
