I love training in Manchester it’s an amazing city to train in. I also feel the tutors are generally great and passionate and are keen to share knowledge and know everyone personally and our own needs. I do feel ICTheatre facilities could be improved by providing sufficient space for students to train in the centre rather than travelling to Denton by their own means. I also think the Dancehouse building could be improved/modernised to keep up with competing drama schools as the facilities often feel lacking. Even down to having water machines throughout the building rather than on just one floor as access to water should be more easy in a dance school. I feel I don’t know anything or have an information as to a student union so I cannot make a positive or negative judgment on this.

I think as much as I love and have passion for this course, I often feel some tutors have lack of commitment to teaching in this school as many teach in many different places so we are just one of many. Contact time is decent but spread poorly over the 3 musical theatre disciplines, we have often found that it is uneven and we have not enough or too much of certain lessons, (e.g not enough ballet/jazz classes) We also have huge breaks in the course time so able meaning our days feel staggered and jarring.

Unfortunately this Halls is now Uni Of Manchester only. However when we lived there we enjoyed it and felt safe and comfortable. The location was fine but personally I wanted to be closer to the centre.

The community is great, being around artists and people from the music industry it’s really nice and beneficial, especially when we support each other. It’s such an unique energy. Maybe more drop off classes and networking events would improve the relationships between the students.

The in class lectures are really interesting and usually interactive, the lecturers are very supportive and patient with the students. However, some of the modules are quite hard and maybe more lectures or tutorials are needed.
