For me, ACM came to feel like home. It's a specialist environment where all kinds of people interested in a career in music come together. If music is your thing, you won't I far wrong, here. The best part for me was that ACM prepared me for the real world. i got a job before I graduated and the breadth of knowledge I gained at ACM has meant I've never been out of employment. I'm really proud of that.

They opened practise pods when I was there. They were accessible in the evenings and on weekends. Top notch!

The staff really take time to get to know you. There's nothing that is too much trouble for them. Their guidance and counselling support is also very good. They're there when you need them.

They didn't have a SU when I was there, but they've got one now and it's open to alumni! It's right by the riverside on ACM Island and is great for networking.

Guildford isn't the biggest city ever, but ACM gives you plenty to do. In some ways, that was the best part. Acm didn't expect the city to look after you and keep you busy. ACM do all of that.

They didn't have a union when I was there to do that kind of thing but I know things are different now.

All of my lecturers were working industry professionals. They were always bringing the best opportunities back to us as students. I also like the fact I could take elective modules in areas that particularly interested me. It felt like I was personalising the course to meet my career aspirations.

See my comment above re getting employment before graduating. There's an industry link team especially dedicated to getting students into music and creative industry jobs.

When I was at ACM, I stayed in shated houses around town. Acm helped me find other students to live with. A friend tells me they now have student halls. This would have been 5 stars if they had them when I was there!!

The pandemic has definitely hindered the experience, and having online classes for such a physical subject has been a disappointment. However; the uni are still providing access to their facilities. I still think it is over priced to pay £9,000+ a year, like it is for all unis.

Specific tutors can often be extremely helpful with your course subject and personal projects.

Although the universities organisation is not to the highest standard, especially through the pandemic, the uni has a unique network of teachers and students that allow students to progress in their career whilst studying and even after they graduate. Unfortunately, online classes have not been very well organised and often timetables have been delayed.
