My time at Cardiff Met has more than exceeded my expectations! My course is based at the Llandaff Campus - I have had very little to do with Cyncoed campus - however, the Llandaff Campus has been more than enough to meet my needs during my time on the course. The Uni is clean, tidy & is constantly being maintained. It is clean, fresh and well organised and ran. The staff are always friendly, helpful and kind. Nothing is too much. I cannot stress how wonderfully kind the staff in the Management Canteen are - they go above and beyond and are always smiling. Plenty of opportunity to access the Student Union and there are reminders everywhere that this is available to you! Student Services and support is a constant running theme throughout the University - encouraging students to reach out in a multitude of ways. The lecturers on my course discuss and share this information reguarly with students. The only downside I would say for students who travel, like myself, is parking. However, the university have supported with this and there are alternative parking measures in place. This would be the only issue I would ask the university to look at - particularly the financial impact this has on students. However, I have managed over the last 3 years just fine. Plenty of public transport for more local students and students manage to access the university regularly and easily!

2 days per week in University and the remainder of the week is self-directed study which has been massively helpful as a mature, part time working, single parent. More recently, lectures have been recorded which has massively helpful when I have been unable to attend university or need a catch up/reminder of the content discussed during particular weeks. The course has been delivered predominantly between 10-4pm - suitable hours for students to manage; again particularly those who work, have childcare commitments etc. Lecturers are on hand to be contacted - with a clear line of contact for every student including a personal tutor. Lecturers are kind, informative, helpful and supportive and do their utmost to ensure your experience is what it should be. Modules are allocated to particular leaders so there is no confusion as to who to contact if there are issues with any work and this makes it straight forward and clear as to who to turn to when needed! Course content is varied and informative. Students are given opportunities to reflect on this and propose changes for future students. Work placement opportunities have been varied and the university are very helpful in supporting to organise these opportunities.

I started university during the covid pandemic so a lot of my time has been online. This was well executed by the university and lectures. Staff can be helpful when needed and feel like they are good to take on any feedback from us students. I enjoy coming to campus and using the facilities with my university friends. The lecture rooms can sometimes be cold and this makes it uncomfortable when learning. The parking situation is not very good and I think we should be able to park on campus like we did during the pandemic. Overall I have had a good experience with Cardiff Met and have enjoyed my time at university.

Contact with lectures can be difficult depending on who you need to speak to as some are quicker to respond than others. I think more space to congregate with your uni group and do some studying would be helpful. A tour would be really good during induction to know where we can study quietly and together. Our timetables could have been developed better as sometimes we have had three hour breaks in the middle of the day and we find that this is not helpful. We would prefer to work through and finish early to do work at home.
