I discovered DL learning through Leicester at the beginning of the year. I was unsure about the University so decided to test the waters with a short course before embarking on my Archaeology BA. That was a great success, I thoroughly enjoyed it and decided to enrol for my BA in September. I feel like I have a voice, I feel like I matter and that I can do really well. I am held and encouraged and everything, even for a DL student is inclusive. Our lecturers are passionate about what they do which is hugely motivating, even one of the professor's cats are part of the team! Being new Im still finding my feet but I am already looking forward to a fieldwork trip, usually reserved for 2nd year so again I find this hugely encouraging. Im a mature student following a dream I have had since childhood and Leicester is allowing me to achieve that dream.

Best aspect is I can study through distant learning Worst is that I miss out on student campus life

The campus has almost everything and more that you could think to need during your time at university. The centrality of it and its services make it super accessible. I also like services provided by the university to ensure student wellbeing and safety (e.g. SafeZone App).

Individuals are supported and their course/ research is allowed to be moulded by what that student wants to achieve.
