Nightlife in Bristol
Bristol is well-known for its nightlife, in particular its live music scene. Some popular venues to catch a gig at across the city include The Fleece, The Bristol Fringe and The Exchange. If you’re after DJs and clubbing, then you should definitely check out Motion, a huge warehouse-style club.
If it’s a quieter night out you’re looking for then you may want to catch a show at The Old Vic, or if a catchup with your mates over a glass of wine is what you’re after then you’ll want to make a visit to one of the city’s many pubs and bars. Student accommodation in Bristol
Living in Bristol, you’ll be able to choose between living in uni halls or privately renting. If you opt for uni halls, then you’ll likely have all your bills included in your rent to make your renting experience smoother. On average, uni-owned halls in Bristol cost around £150 a week. Shared bathroom, self-catered rooms make for a cheaper option, while ensuite, catered or studio rooms tend to incur additional costs. Catered accommodation, while more expensive, will reduce the money you have to spend on groceries, so may represent a good investment.
If you’d prefer to rent privately, you might want to look at renting a room in a shared house or flat, often with other students. Rooms in shared houses usually cost from £700 per month, though cheaper options can be found if you choose to live a bit further away from the city centre. Transport in Bristol
From Bristol, you can easily reach cities such as London, Exeter and Bath on the train. Tickets to Exeter or Bath can be around £10 each way, while a one-way ticket to London starts from £18. Bristol has two unis in the city – the University of Bristol and Bristol, University of the West of England (UWE).
