1. The skills you’ll learn
It goes without saying that you’ll learn a lot if you study a business and management degree. Among the things you’ll learn will be a long list of subject-specific and transferrable skills. Some of the transferrable skills you’ll learn include communication, decision-making, critical thinking, presentation skills, data analysis and management, report writing and trend analysis.
As well as all these, you’ll be picking up lots of subject-specific skills including business planning, financial forecasting, management theory, knowledge of business and employment UK laws, financial theory and marketing.

With a business and management degree, you can work across a wide range of industries. This means there are loads of doors open, as in almost any industry you can imagine, business and management expertise are incredibly desirable.

The exact modules and topics covered on your degree will depend on the course you choose, as well as the optional modules you study. However, there are a fair few topics which are commonly covered on business and management degrees including economics for business, business analytics, project management, HR management, business economics and UK law, and business strategy. You can expect your degree will cover at least some of these areas.

We hope, anyway. We’re assuming that if you’re here, you’re probably interested in studying it, so that’s yet another reason to add to your list. You’re going to be studying it for three years, so it’s best that you enjoy the subject you’re studying!
