At Whatuni, we pride ourselves on the unbiased and honest reviews we collect from students. We know how important it is for prospective students to get all the information they need when deciding where to study for their degree.
How can prospective students benefit from student reviews?
It’s not always enough to make a judgement just from looking through a prospectus. Reviews offer an extra resource when finding an institution that's right for you.
University reviews can give you answers to questions you hadn’t got around to asking. They let you explore aspects of a university experience you may not have even considered.
All reviews are listed on our 'Read reviews' page, with filter options available for prospective students to narrow down their search. You can use the search and filter bars at the top of the page to find specific institution course reviews. You can also filter by keywords, meaning your search results will only show reviews that mention specific things.
As our reviews cover a broad range of topics, you'll also get information on how a university equips its students for the future, as well as support students' experiences from their tutors and lectures.
If you read a review on our site and want to know more about a specific university, you can go straight to the uni’s profile. There you can find more information on what the university has to offer, including course fees and accommodation prices. You can also order prospectuses, book a place at an open day and request more information from the university.
How do we use student reviews?
Aside from assisting prospective students, Whatuni student reviews contribute to our annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards. These awards are a celebration of the best universities and higher education institutions in the UK.
The awards give us useful insights into student satisfaction rates across different areas, as well as vital information about how different aspects of university life can impact each other. It's always amazing to see which universities have gone above and beyond each year, and how they've taken note of past reviews and made changes according to student needs.
Prospective students are given the best of both worlds as the reviews show them the best and worst parts of each category. This in turn can guide them in making firm decisions of what universities they want to apply to. Based on what a student wants to gain from their university experience, they can find out everything from how big or small class sizes are to what sports facilities are available and how often they're given tutorials with staff.
It's the student reviews we collect every year that make these awards happen and help future generations of students find the right course and university. If you want to tell us about your student experience, then simply head to our review page.
How can reviews help universities?
Reviews also benefit universities. They can see how they've made their students' experiences memorable, and also how they can improve or make changes to certain aspects of their students' university life. While many universities give their students ample opportunities to raise concerns during their time at university, our reviews collect feedback from a wide and varied range of university life areas, making sure prospective students have access to the ‘real' student experience.
