Open days are a fantastic way to explore any universities which you may be interested in applying to. You’ll get to check out the campus, take a look around its classrooms, libraries, laboratories and lecture halls, as well as see what else is on offer in terms of recreational activities, green spaces and sports facilities.
It’s really useful to speak with member of the teaching faculty, and current students of the course you may be applying to, as well as getting feedback on other important aspects of university life such as accommodation, budgeting, extra-curricular activities and student life. It’s the best way to really get a feel for the place, and it can get you excited to study there.

One of the many things you can do during an open day is to participate in a campus tour. These are usually guided by current students, who lead a walking tour of the university that includes all the main areas and some specific parts of the campus which are important to be aware of.
Booking a campus tour can be done on the university’s website, or you can send them an enquiry by email. There are normally several campus tours timetabled throughout each open day, so plan in advance and make it part of your visit.
