This year there’s two brand new categories added to the other ten categories at the Whatuni Student Choice Awards, the first of which is called Giving Back. This was awarded to the university where students felt they gave back the most to those around them. So, who walked away with this title for the first ever time?...
The first ever recipient of this award is
Loughborough University! Nominated in nine categories and placing top three in seven of them, students are giving back fantastic ratings and reviews to the university voted the best for giving back.
Students praised the sense of community that Loughborough created with the regular action projects they ran, as well as their dedication to giving back to the community around them.
Another successful university at this year’s awards,
Harper Adams University took home the first ever silver place in this category. Nominated in nine categories and placing top three in seven of them, they’re clearly doing more than one thing right.
Students said their university gave back in a variety of ways including research projects, asking every club and society to help out in the community at least once a team, holding regular events to raise money for charity and generally encouraging everyone to join in and help their local community.
Finishing off the first ever top three in this category,
Bangor University take home third place. Nominated in ten categories, this Welsh university really had a huge presence at this year’s awards due to their high ratings and praise from their students.
Students were incredibly vocal about how good the university was at giving back, including the volunteer groups who help out local charities, the effort the university makes to include the local community as well as the range of events they ran to raise money for charity.
