Being in Clearing can feel like a mad dash to make sure you claim a place at a uni before they’re all gone. Luckily, that's not the case. You'll want to act promptly, while you're in Clearing, but there's no point rushing to make the wrong decision. Take your time, because these will be some important choices you need to make.
To help save you time and make the best choice in Clearing, we’ve got a snazzy little feature on our site that’ll show you at a glance how likely it is a uni will accept your application – useful for quickly seeing where you could study your chosen subject with your grades.
Here’s how you can use this fab feature...
1. Search for your course
When Clearing opens on July 5, you’ll probably spot that we add sections specifically for Clearing courses in our search. Make sure you’re using this to find courses you’re interested in that accept Clearing students.
2. Enter your grades
It only takes a few moments to pop your grades into our UCAS points calculator, whether you’ve A-levels, Scottish Highers, a BTEC diploma or Irish Leaving Certificates. You can also simply enter your UCAS points if you already know them.

3. See your chance of acceptance
Scroll through the courses available in Clearing and you’ll now see an indicator showing the likelihood of being accepted onto each course based on your grades!
4. Get on the phone
Found a course you’re interested in with a ‘very likely’ chance of acceptance? Give the uni a call! Click ‘Call now’ to get their Clearing hotline contact details so you can ask them any questions you may have and see if they’ll give you an offer.
We hope that this tool will be helpful in your uni search. If you need any more help during Clearing, check out our Clearing Hub, which is packed to the brim with useful information, FAQs, guides and more. Good luck!
