Ok, so your results haven't gone as planned and you've missed out on your top two choices; don’t call 999, there's no need to get the emergency services involved – there might be another way. Have you ever thought about doing a HND or HNC course instead? Many of the colleges and universities that offer Public Service Degrees also offer HND/HNCs – so it’s a great way to get into studying Public Services.

An HNC takes a year and a HND takes two – a completed HND is worth 2/3 of a degree and the final year can be topped up to turn it into the full degree. You can also top up the HNC to an HND, then up to a degree if you want to. To start your search, just type Public Services into the search bar at the top of the page and filter by HND/HNC (it's under Study Level in the left-hand column).

Good luck for Clearing! Head to the Whatuni Facebook page or Twitter account if you need to ask for advice – we’ll be happy to help.
