Tell us about your overall university experience so far.
This university has its great moments, due to its small size everyone feels like a family and you're not treated like a number like most universities. I have also noticed how international students become quickly adjusted to the wonderful environment ,considering they have travelled thousands and thousands of miles away from home. The university try's its utmost best to ensure students are being looked after, and you don't feel alienated at the fact that you are just a student , they see you as not a nobody but a hopeful achiever. As well as the people on campus , the environment is always an eye-catcher. If you're ever feeling stressed with exams then the beautiful scenery whereby the river Ouse waves through the campus and not to mention the greenery will always be there to calm you.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
Library staff are amazing , the gym needs to be bigger and they need a better campus bus.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
I found that Student Welfare can be very helpful and give you insight
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
The Student Union has made some mighty changes over the past few months, I try to attend most events and support our student Union and not to mention our Sports Union also.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Life in Buckingham can be very bleak, however its more so the company you keep than heading down to the Savoy every other night.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
I like the variety of societies and clubs , there is a little something for everyone here.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
My course is amazing , the lecturers are so down to earth and are always there when you need them. They are never afraid to reach out to see if everything is going alright in your lie and academic studies.
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
The majority of courses offer a 2 year degree so already you have managed to achieve what other uni students will but in a lesser stretch of time , showing that you are a high achiever in a shorter duration which is what most companies in all industries want in their employees.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
I moved out of accommodation after 2 terms as I wanted my own space and couldn't deal with the constant smoke alarms going off, but that is pretty standard.
