Best aspects:
The location has a great mix of countryside and still connected to the city/towns. Their student wellbeing is for the most part, helpful and understanding.
Worst aspects:
Impersonal education, which i guess is the same for the whole of the UK. The campus health centre treats students with no respect, it is understandable that they have a stressful job, but their attitudes towards students is rude and unhelpful. The prices of cafes/spar/facilities are unreasonable. The bus situation is also terrible. The sexual assults and abuse towards (generally) female students is appauling and gets pushed under the rug.

The School of Life Sciences offers weekly labs which are a great hands on experience.
The use of lectures only, doesnt teach enough practical/social skills which are necessary for future employment. There is a serious lack of feedback following exams, and some assignments. The marking feels ridiculously varied with no consistency across the year. Their responses are poor and often belitle your requests.

The good things that I love is that the professors care and the university cares about the students. Something that could be improved is to maybe open research opportunities for experience for students for a month or a term to get lab experience. The only opportunities are in the summer, though it would be great if they were also available during the semesters and during the other holidays like the winter or easter holiday.

Best things is that the professors care as I said before. The worst thing is that labs don’t have enough equipment a lot of the time and I feel like we aren’t getting enough lab experience or experience to see what research is like. Last time I had a lab a key part went wrong because it had not been prepared properly and this was not the first time. I don’t think this is fair. Again, I also wish we had more lab experience, that is not marked like an exam but on attendance and understanding so that we can get the experience purely.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
They make it very expensive and I don’t understand why. I shared with 12 people and had to pay over £200. I feel like it is unfair to do that especially as there an not many accommodations close to the university. The good thing is everything else, like amenities, management, wifi (though the service for calling is bad).
