Warwick has amazing facilities and the way campus and the SU are set up really creates a huge community feel. Walking around campus and bumping into people i've met on nights out, through society events and even through the mixers my course sets up are some of my favourite thing about studying here at warwick. everyone feel well connected and the systems in place again really foster a community feel great for academics and social life. One thing I am not a huge fan of at the uni is the prices of things on campus, with being in a campus uni things can be isolating at times and grabbing food on campus is really convenient but it is just unncessasrity expensive in places. I feel there should be more rewards programmes in places like rootes and curiositea and cafe library to help us all out.

We really don't have many contact hours in my course and I find it quite frustrating and can definitely walk away from a lecture having not learnt anything! Our year 2 media lab sessions are from 10 till 4 and I can confidently say that our classes thus far have not been great. I really wish we had an opportunity to do a year abroad, media is so global yet we're one of the only courses who don't offer a year abroad. Apart from these things i do think my course is great. We cover such a vast range of topics really catering to anyone who would like to pursue a career in the creative industries and I have recommended my course to so many younger people considering media as in my opinion there is no other course in the country that offers as many opportunities as mine.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
The rooms and kitchens were great! really big and having a couch and a TV. Super close to campus and the staff and residential teams are really close to all the buildings and super helpful. It was VERY expensive though. for my second year i am staying in an off campus accommodation that is extremely similar where i share with less people and have access to so many more amenities including a gym for much cheaper while still being really close to the university. The only other issue was the wifi and service, the wifi was very problematic logging everyone off for days on end made worse by the fact there was no service in the area of my accomodation so mobile data could not be utilised.

Warwick is a largely positive environment with mostly friendly staff. Events, although inevitably aimed at 1st years, are alright, but do get old once you’re in 2nd year and beyond. I would also argue that many people (including myself) feel that the Student’s Union doesn’t really do much for students - it’s more so to make the university look good. For £9500, I would expect a better variety of interesting events as well as benefits.
As far as the buildings, the FAB is great - I can’t say the same for the science buildings though, they’re very blocky, brutalist creations that haven’t aged well. I would also argue that with some of the lore modern additions, they’re too far away from the centre of campus (eg near the arts centre) for many people to actually appreciate their features! (Such as the water courses etc).
There are more than enough study spaces which is good, but lecturers struggle to justify the use of certain spaces, often fighting for rooms, which isn’t helpful.

The course hours are alright, but I feel that many lecturers take too much of a hands off approach, especially for larger projects, which feels very counter-intuitive, and more of an excuse for them to take their concentration off the boil. Moreover, for a course boasting great connections to industry, few students have been offered any internships that aren’t based on campus! There is also a lot of emphasis placed on the talent of the students themselves coming into the course, rather than actually teaching students valuable skills - thus the transformational capability of the course is certainly questionable without 100 percent commitment from students - making group work harder.

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
Whitefields, as the cheapest accommodation, was actually pretty good. The price justified the unappealing aesthetic and smaller room. I got used to sharing a shower and loo, it really wasn’t a big deal at all. The only thing I would say is that social life is limited due to the smaller cohort within each block. Safety and quality-wise, gas leaks seemed fairly common, or power outages given the age of the buildings. Rumours of Whitefields being knocked down and replaced with fresh accommodation means that the baseline pricing will go up for students in halls as Whitefields is eventually crossed off the options list.
