why study Media

What is Media? Subject overview with study options

Working in media is one of the most popular career choices among graduates. Some degrees are strongly theoretical, whilst others are more vocational and you will be required to gain hands-on experience in a newsroom, at a publishing house or broadcaster.

Jobs in media are scarce, seldom well paid and often contracted on a freelance basis. But with sufficient work experience and vocational training there are opportunities for graduates in journalism, marketing, advertising, publishing and teaching.
