University of Roehampton

The University of Roehampton is a friendly, modern, vibrant learning community set on a beautiful and historic campus in south-west London, near Richmond Park. The stunning 54-acre campus is only 30 minutes from the West End and 15 minutes bus ride to the vibrant centres of Putney, Hammersmith and Richmond. We have a proud and extensive history in higher education stretching back over 170 years through our four Colleges. This unique history continues to determine the character and ethos of the university in a number of ways. Our mission is to support all of our students, whatever their background, to reach their full potential. We provide a personal learning experience, helping them grow as individuals and to be responsible citizens and leaders.

The university has a strong research profile, with some of the most highly regarded academic departments in the country. It is ranked first in the UK for research in Biological Anthropology and Dance. Students benefit from engaging with staff who are researching at the highest level. The university also has an excellent reputation for its arts and humanities, social sciences, human and life sciences, and education courses.

The university’s strengths in teaching are recognised nationally. The 2013 Institutional Audit of Teaching by the UK's Quality Assurance Agency identified more instances of good practice at Roehampton than at any other UK university.

Some 10,000 students attend the University of Roehampton, a quarter of who are postgraduates. There is a cosmopolitan atmosphere on campus, with more than 140 different nationalities studying at the university, reflecting its growing international reputation.

We have a broad range of UG courses across the arts and humanities, social sciences, and human and life sciences, at the same time as maintaining our historic strength in education. Studying these subjects at Roehampton will help you acquire the essential skills you need to develop a successful career in a complex and fast-changing world.
