BG is a unique place, where you’ll form friendships and have experiences that will shape the rest of your life - a fact to which our students will attest. We’re set within a single-site campus, so just about everything you need is within easy reach. This means you won’t have to wander through an urban sprawl just to get a cup of coffee or attend a lecture. Everything is close by, whether it be your tutors, your friends, your lectures or the places in which you like to relax.
We’ve been here in the historic heart of Lincoln for 150 years, a beautifully green and pleasant campus often ablaze with colour and pulsating to the rhythm of our samba band, just a few minutes’ walk from Lincoln Cathedral, castle and the old Roman city. We’ve seen a lot of things come and go in that time, but we’ve never stopped providing first-class education, turning out graduates of the highest calibre who go out into the world and change people’s lives for the better.
In recent years we’ve undergone an explosion of growth, expanding and developing our portfolio of courses into more exciting new areas than ever before. We still consider ourselves experts in education – we have been doing it for 150 years after all – but our teaching courses now sit alongside an exciting range of other subjects, from drama to heritage; foundation degree to PhD, and much more in between. You, the potential student of 2013, are in the unique position of having more choice at BG than anyone in our history, with over almost 100 courses to choose from.
We keep adding to our campus to ensure that our students have a fulfilling learning experience and a rewarding university life. Recent additions to our campus have been our Sport and Fitness Centre (great for working off the pounds), coffee shop (great for putting the pounds back on again) and business and enterprise centre (where you could turn your ideas into pounds!). During the course of 2012 we’ll be opening our multi-million pound library extension, ensuring that BG students will have the resources and opportunities to excel in their chosen subjects.
You don’t just pass through BG – you become a BG student. And BG will never leave you. We recently hosted a reunion of students who left us in 1960. How many other places can say they form such a strong bond between people that they’re still together 50 years on?
As a BG student we’ll support you, we’ll challenge you, we’llmake you feel at home. That’s what we do. It’s what we’ve always done. So read on, and perhaps come along to one of our open days to find out more.
It won’t take you long to realise you wouldn’t want to be anywhere else…
