UNIVERSITY PROFILE

Overview

The University of East Anglia has a first-rate reputation for its teaching, academic support, work-experience opportunities and its social life. Home to over 14,000 Home/EU and International students, UEA has been consistently ranked as one of the top universities for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey and has received the highest ranking in its most recent Teaching Quality Audit. These resounding endorsements reflect the quality of our cutting-edge facilities, internationally-renowned departments and supportive and engaging staff.

The latest Research Assessment Exercise also placed us among the top research universities in the UK and we are ranked as one of the top 12 UK universities with regard to research influence on the world stage by the Times Higher Education. The University maintains this reputation by selecting the most able and dedicated staff and students from around the world, and challenging them to reach their full potential.

Located in the East of England, UEA is situated on the outskirts of the bustling city of Norwich. A friendly and safe place to live, this historic City has been voted as one of the top 10 UK destinations. Norwich has very good bus and rail connections to the rest of the UK and its airport ensures easy access to Europe with connections worldwide.

The University has been built on 190 hectares of beautiful parkland and our students seem to find the community-driven ethos of this single-site campus particularly appealing. Virtually no part of the campus is more than a few minutes’ walk from anywhere else, including all academic departments, lecture theatres, library facilities, and the sporting and social amenities.

The University also offers a London-based Study Centre which has been established, together with INTO University Partnerships, to enhance the employability of our graduates, raise the University’s international profile and foster links with influential government and business communities in the UK’s capital city.
