DMU has a proud history stretching back to the 1870s and the foundation of Leicester School of Art on this very site. A long tradition of excellent teaching, learning and research was originally founded on the technical and trade education of the late 19th century.

 

With more than 23,000 students, DMU's bustling campus in Leicester is right in the heart of the country. The campus combines modern architecture with scenic squares and historic buildings. The Campus Centre is the hub of DMU life, and includes De Montfort Students' Union, along with a bar, nightclub, food court, shops and much more.
