It’s had a great sense of community and a real personal feel to it. Everyone’s like a big family and so supportive of each other. The classes are well planned and useful in every aspect of the industry.

My drama school experience hasn’t been what I expected; it’s not Rose Brufords fault ALRA shut down but student experience has been poor and it feels a shame that these have been my uni years.

Inclusion from Londin and Wigan experience, seems like we are having to try thrice as hard to be heard by Sidcup. Communication can sometimes be a let down.

The facilities are good and the staff work hard to provide out reach to the creative community in wigan but it can sometimes be difficult. Also there isn’t lots in the way of student unions.

European Theatre Arts BA (Hons)

University rating (4)

I am thoroughly enjoying my course, it is exactly what I saw myself doing and it feels very fulfilling to be doing it alongside many talented people. I would say that the courseload is so heavy at times that I feel myself slipping below a healthy work/life balance; mainting my living space, eating well and substantially and finding time to relax within all that has been challenging. The price reduction across the board at the cafe has been a massive positive and the food has remained excellent in quality and portion. I am far more likely to feel good about spending money there now whereas before, there was always a reservation about the cost. I do feel however, there is little communication about the overall atmosphere of the college with the mangement. Myself and many other students have encountered some difficulty in their attempts to organise room booking or get help from the college with societies. I've also enountered upset from others about the lack of college night events and the apparent plans to remove them entirely, myself and many students see them as a huge part of student life here. Another issue which had little to no clarification on was the removal of the smoking area on campus, it was filled with art and murals done by the students themselves and it seemed unnecessary to remove it.

We just need better facilities and other things which make us more matched to sidcup, as well as improvements to the building etc

Like the campus and the teachers are great. Would love to be more included in Sidcup events and have more of a link with that campus.

Student of Rose Bruford Wigan is a fantastic place to study, we have an amazing course director Kate and incredible teachers who listen to us and are so passionate about the work they are teaching. It’s a tight knit community and Wigan has got everything you need. One thing that I think could be improved would be being more involved with the sidcup campus, there are a lot of extra curricular and activities that we don’t get and would really like to have and would also love to be involved in things like symposium and the festivals that happen.
