It's a good idea to check with the uni, as they may offer visits to the specific department that offers your course as part of their university open day. That way you can speak to people who are already taking your course, as well as the lecturers. Talk to as many people as possible at the university open days you attend, as they're your best source of first-hand information that will help you make the right choice.
