Excellent facilities and fantastic lecturers who are clearly passionate about their professions. Blackheath lane feels like a home away from home with everything you need to make studying enjoyable.
Student support has been excellent as required. The library is a great source of help for any academic queries and having a named academic assessor makes it easy to contact the right person when needed. Staff reply to emails promptly and are helpful and polite.
Student life at Blackheath lane is different to the ‘typical’ uni experience, due to it being solely healthcare courses and a mix of younger and older people in each cohort, many commute in from home and so there isn’t a great deal of social things happening eg nights out, however we do organise these within our cohorts anyway so don’t feel like we are particularly missing out. I am aware of the students union but we unfortunately don’t see them much at Blackheath lane so a stronger presence there would be good too.

Excellent course with fantastic lecturers who are passionate about what they do.
A mix of online and in person lectures which is great, especially for those who commute in.
Lecturers and assessors are easy to contact when needed and reply quickly.
The course itself is full on but the content of each lecture is explained well to us, however for both first and second year, the initial semester was extremely full on content wise and then we found the last 2 semesters a lot less heavy making us wonder if the content could be better spread across the year to reduce stress.

It’s the welcoming atmosphere, everyone is welcoming including the lecturers! They make each session enjoyable and chatty. Lecturers are only an email away if at home and on placement, they keep up to date with you with any concerns as students we may have and solve them as best as possible.
Is the communication for placement to uni and us, it can get a little messy but working at the nhs is never straight forward due to the stress they’re under.

We have blended learning, online for some lecturers but then face to face. We have practical skills and stimulation days. We do 3/4 days of uni from 9-4pm. We all have our own specific lecturer which of course we share with other students that will be our go to for placement and any concerns ect.

Personally, it’s a great little place they have on site cafe/wifi, library, and just 2minutes away from the uni is a shop and takeaway branches! Perfect for lunch and last minute needs. From the West Midlands it’s straight forward to get to
