In the UK, the standard first degree is a Bachelors degree with honours. Generally an Politics degree course usually takes three years full-time study while in Scotland an Politics degree course takes four years.
Degree Subject Intro: Politics
Exploring ideologies, you will examine the implementation of freedom, democracy and human rights, and develop an understanding of how politics affects us, how parliaments operate and the processes of election.
A politics degree doesn't automatically qualify you to become an MP, but it does offer a solid grounding if you intend to work in or around Westminster, the Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly or any of the branches of local government.
