Degree Subject Intro: Education
Studying education normally entails a teacher training qualification, which will familiarise you with the national curriculum and classroom-based teaching. Alternatively, you may be interested in education for academic reasons, seeking to discover its impact on society.
You will need to develop the confidence to command a classroom of children or teenagers. Patience, an appreciation of child psychology and a solid understanding of educational practice is also important. Apart from teaching, there are opportunities in directing education policy and plenty of avenues for further study.
