Degree Subject Intro: Biology
As the study of all living organisms, the biosciences cover everything from the molecular level to beyond, including human biology, botany, zoology, genetics, microbiology and biochemistry. You will be spending long periods researching but will also need to develop presentation skills and teamwork. Some courses offer a placement in industry.
If you intend to become a scientist you will need to undertake further study, apply for a research post and choose specialisms such as forensic science, immunology or toxicology.
