In the UK, the standard first degree is a Bachelors degree with honours. Generally an Astrophysics degree course usually takes three years full-time study while in Scotland an Astrophysics degree course takes four years.
Degree Subject Intro: Astrophysics
Exploring the fundamentals of electromagnetism, quantum and classical mechanics, statistical physics, thermodynamics and the properties of matter, a physics degree requires good maths and computing skills. There will be substantial lab work and you will be expected to complete a project in your final year.
Physics graduates are at a premium and highly sought after by a range of employers. This is especially true of engineering and IT, but also in the public sector, business and teaching.
