What is this course about?
The degree operates within a flexible framework that allows students to select modules to suit personal interests; at levels 1 and 2 students study a range of core modules that provide a good grasp of psychological knowledge across a number of topics; in level 3, students choose from a suite of options to pursue in greater depth topics of interest; all students on the journalism degrees take a common first year, learning how to interview, research and write news, sport and features for newspapers, magazines and online; if students prefer news, sport or magazine journalism, then, if the right first-year options have been chosen, students are free to switch to relevant degree; journalism students go on to gain expertise in reporting, interviewing and research, design and production, media law, public affairs and shorthand.
