What is this course about?
All students on the journalism degrees take a common first year, learning how to interview, research and write news, sport and features for newspapers, magazines and online; if students prefer news, sport or magazine journalism, then, if the right first-year options have been chosen, students are free to switch to relevant degree; journalism students go on to gain expertise in reporting, interviewing and research, design and production, media law, public affairs and shorthand; the combined subjects degree provides an opportunity to study sport with another subject as a major, minor or dual combination; the sports degree is multidisciplinary; with sport, sociology and health studies personnel contributing to the delivery; opportunity for study exists in the areas of sport and exercise physiology, sports development, sports medicine and sports injuries, psychology, sports coaching, exercise leadership and sociology and history of sport.
