What is this course about?

All students on the journalism degrees take a common first year, learning how to interview, research and write news, sport and features for newspapers, magazines and online; if students prefer news, sport or magazine journalism, then, if the right first-year options have been chosen, students are free to switch to relevant degree; journalism students go on to gain expertise in reporting, interviewing and research, design and production, media law, public affairs and shorthand; key aspects of dance are its creative, flexible and innovative provision and extensive reach-out and community links; the focus is on contemporary dance (in its widest sense) as a performing art and modules are designed with a realistic vision to enable students to experience dance as performer, creator and spectator; in the main a practical, workshop approach is adopted and topical or integral issues provide a stimulating focal point for students to deepen their practice and understanding of the human body in motion and within society.
