- Involves a preliminary year of study, automatically continuing onto the degree course. The five main areas of study are actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, economics and finance. You will also develop communication and IT skills. Options increase as you progress through the course. A foreign language course is also an option in your second or final year. Options may lead to professional recognition and exemption from professional exams. Before your final year, you may spend a year studying at a Canadian university or working on a paid business placement.

- Assessment is based on examinations, coursework and the final-year project. All three years of study count towards the final degree classification in the ratio of 1:3:6, with approximately 80 per cent based on examination results. A year abroad or in a business placement will not count toward your final classification but will be endorsed on your degree certificate.
