Assessment method

Modules are normally assessed either by examination alone or by a mix of assessed work and written examination papers. Assessed work takes a variety of forms including essays, case studies, projects, group work and presentations. The ratio of assessment by coursework to assessment by examination varies from degree to degree, but is about 20:80. The examinations at the end of the first year have to be passed to proceed to the second year but they do not count towards your degree classification. Examinations contributing to your final degree classification are taken at the end of the second year and at the end of the final year.
