Assessment method

A variety of teaching and learning strategies are used including lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials. Students will be encouraged to develop presentation and report writing skills through case-studybased seminars and assessments. Learning is supported through a web peer support system and tutorials exploring studying and examination/assignment techniques. Assessment at the end of the first semester is limited to one assignment per module to allow time for students to assimilate into the new culture of teaching and learning, often in a second language. The assessment at the end of second semester is by necessity heavier but should not prove onerous to students provided with the time to reflect upon their knowledge. Modules are assessed using a mixture of examinations, coursework presentations and the dissertation.

Entry requirements

Entry is normally through an HND or Foundation Degree in an appropriate subject, or equivalent. Particular grades and/or units may be required.
